Unique Seafood Restaurant @ 24 May 2008

Dinner @ Unique Seafood Restaurant, Section 13.

Been there few time & were quite satisfy with the service & different types of live seafood available for selections.
This Dinner is to celebrate HB Birthday.
Momsy been here previously, she n dad has stewed abalone, picked live from the tank.

This time we picked Stir fry Clams Green Onion & Ginger , Garlic stir fry Sweet Pea , Steamed Prawns with Egg whites & Snow Crab in Superior Soup

Stir fry Clams Green Onion & Ginger - was salty but went well with white rice

Garlic stir fry Sweet Pea - Crunchy & Sweet, but they didn't remove the hard bits properly

Steamed Prawns with Egg whites - fresh & sweet prawns, no overpowering taste, just focusing on the sweet juicy prawn meat.

The star dish - Snow Crab in Superior Soup - the shell was egg thin , easily disarmed with just a pair of scissor, yielding the tasty crab meat, taste springy & sweet....but ... it fell short of our expectation, the sauce was thin & runny, the crab looks like went thru war zone... we previously had this before, both times, the sauce was thick & lovely to go with the rice & coated well to the crab meat, the crab is all creamy white & not spotted black like on the picture

Overall the meal cost RM400 ++, the crab alone was over RM300 ++ . given the frills [steam peanuts appetiser, towelettes] the service was attentive & they change our plates frequently.

Maybe I'll try the spider crab next time, given if i have the cash...

The dinner was Average good & worth to come again if there's family special occasion. RSVP required as they are very popular near weekends & public holidays.

My Melaka Short Escape 17 - 19 May 2008

Melaka is so darn hot, i feel BBQed just by standing still.
Sis & Mom meet us up in Air Keroh D' Village Resort. The resort has a 'dingy' feel to it, nevertheless it's a place to shower & rest. The room is so not hygenic that we had sniffles the very next day & need to sleep the half day off.

Our 1st stop to refuel is Satay Celup, nothing much special than normal 'lok lok' except the peanut sauce is used to cook the skewered meat/vege, btw the sauce is the only way of cooking the food. It's pretty much remain on the table, boiling away & eaters sticking sticks of food in the pot.

One of the food i actually enjoyed is the yam cake, bubur cha cha & giant karipap [80cent]. The rest of the food [fish noodles, oh chien, laksa, curry mee] pretty normal & most place is crowded because of the public Wesak holiday.

We were actually stuck in middle of the Wesak parade, no choice but have to wait till all Idols were drove/carried passed.

We had no luck trying fishing at the Air Keroh lake, most locals there use the netting method & many were fishing at night. The lake is nice thou, with sprinkles of rubbish left by uncaring locals

We check out early & headed back to KL.
